NOC Work at PT Panha Network Solution


NOC Work at PT Panha Network Solution is a running log of what I have been doing since I started as NOC on 1 February 2026.

This role has a mix of field work, remote support, network monitoring, and hands-on configuration. It is still ongoing, but I wanted to document the kind of work I have already handled so far.

What I Do as NOC

My daily work usually includes:

  • remote customer provisioning through GenieACS
  • troubleshooting when customers report no internet or experience lag
  • support for SOHO and Dedicated services
  • initial to final configuration for new devices based on their needs
  • adding blacklist websites into Technitium DNS
  • monitoring Uptime Kuma, PRTG graphs, and Technitium DNS graphs
  • sometimes going on site to partner locations when the issue needs direct handling

The work is not always predictable, but that is also what makes it interesting.

1. New Line Installation and OTDR Check

Before the new cable path was fully used, I checked the signal with OTDR to confirm that the light actually reached the destination from the new installation point to the server side. That step helped determine whether the line was healthy and which port it should be connected to before the final plug-in.

This kind of work matters because a clean test before activation saves time later when the link needs to stay stable.

2. Troubleshooting Large-Scale No Internet Cases

This was one of the troubleshooting moments when several hundred customers in another area suddenly experienced no internet.

The issue was separate from the server shown in the first photo, so the focus here was to isolate the affected path, inspect the symptoms, and help narrow down whether the problem came from upstream, distribution, or another part of the network.

In other cases, the complaint was not total outage but network lag, so the same process still applied: check where the delay came from, verify link health, and compare the behavior with the monitoring data.

Situations like this teach you to stay calm, compare signals carefully, and move step by step instead of guessing too fast.

3. Data Center Work for Huawei ATN Installation

This photo was taken at the Cyber-1 Jakarta data center when I was preparing for Huawei ATN installation.

Working in a data center feels different from regular field work because the environment is more controlled, the cable routing has to be cleaner, and every change needs to be done with more attention to detail.

4. After the Device Was Installed in the Rack

This is the result after the device was mounted inside the rack.

At this stage, the focus shifts from physical placement to checking whether the device is properly seated, powered, labeled, and ready to be integrated into the existing network path.

What I Have Learned So Far

Since working at PT Panha Network Solution, I have learned that NOC work is not only about watching dashboards.

It is also about:

  • understanding how network problems appear in real situations
  • reacting quickly when something breaks
  • communicating clearly with partners and internal teams
  • deciding whether an issue should be handled remotely or directly on site
  • keeping monitoring tools readable so problems are easier to catch early

I also spend time watching:

  • Uptime Kuma for service availability
  • PRTG for performance graphs and network status
  • Technitium DNS for blacklist and DNS behavior monitoring

That combination makes the work feel very operational and very real.

Current Status

I started this role on 1 February 2026, and I am still actively working here.

This post is meant as a snapshot of the experience so far, not a final conclusion. The work is still ongoing, and I expect the story to grow as I handle more installs, troubleshooting cases, and network operations.
